What are some ways that I can customize my guitar in out of the ordinary ways?

give me ideas that will hopefully improve the tone, I have a MIA Fender Strat, so far the only tonal customization I've done is reverse my bridge pickup, which actually had a fairly good effect on my tone, especially when I play through the bridge/middle combination.
