How bad does birth hurt?

I wasn't afraid to give birth... Until now! Someone told me if don't think about to pain it wouldn't be as bad but if I think it's gonna hurt I'm gong to scare myself. I talk about it with my husband all the time and then I talked to friends, which I regret! It's my first time having a baby. I'm just scared that I will never want to have children ever again. So any advice or stories, please tell me!
