Strange, jerking feeling?

Sometimes certain types of seizures can be triggered by a strobe light, or other flashing light. The actually always use one while performing an EEG to check for seizures. Focal seizures, don't involve any jerking of the body, sometimes just a blank stare, so this is possible. I'd definitely have it ruled out (which can be challenging).
