What in the world did i see last night!? UFO?

I live in Ohio and last night i was sittin out on my balcony lookin at the stars then i saw somethin that looked like a ball of fire and it was rather large too. and it just sat there, gold color. then it shrank in size, dimmed down and stayed like that for a second, then it exploded back to the large size it was and stayed like that for a minute, still sittin in the same spot and then it shot away and i watched it till it dissapeared. Does anyone have any idea what I saw, if so please help cause its driving me insane!!!! thanks
